MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
SENIOR THERMAL ENGINEER

He/she acts as a Senior Thermal Engineer responsible for thermal activities pertaining to his/her discipline within a project and/or proposal for heat exchangers, aircooler, furnaces, boilers, process burners and refractory systems of process equipment.
The Senior Thermal Engineer reports to the Head of Mechanical Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES
· to get acquainted with the technical contents of the contract and issue technical specifications for design and engineering
· to carry out detailed thermal and fluid dynamic design of heat exchangers, refractory systems and process burners; to ensure design quality, in accordance with the contract and internal standards
· to issue material requisitions; to support the purchasing department by preparing technical tabulations and aligning vendor bids; to follow up engineering development by suppliers after order placement
· to interact with other company departments (process, machinery, piping and civil works) to allow the information flow needed for the engineering development; to coordinate and interface works with outsourced engineering office when they provide engineering and design services for Siirtec Nigi

REQUIRED SKILLS
· degree of mechanical/energy engineer (MSc 3 + 2 or 5 years) with 3-5 years' experience with engineering and contracting companies as designer of heat transfer equipment and packges in the international arena
· a very good knowledge of codes and international standards for the design of heat transfer equipment and packages and of the main areas of concern related to them
· a very good knowledge of at least one commercial software for the thermal design of heat exchangers (HTRI or HTFS)
· to be able to develop autonomously all the activities described above and for which he/she is responsible
· strong personal qualities and communication skills that promote effective collaboration within his/her team, the project team and other departments of the company; problem solving skills
· fluent English spoken and written
· excellent knowledge of Office (Excel, Word, Access)
· willingness to work in different locations both in Italy and abroad

WELCOME SKILLS
· maximum age 35 years
· experience in CFD analsys
· computing experience with finite element software such as ANSYS
· experience in the use of Visual Basic, Scilab and / or MatLab
